He was trained under Tito Ortiz in the 205 lbs (93 kg) weight class and was a contestant on the third season of the The Ultimate Fighter reality television show. Hamill had defeated The Seth Petruzelli 2 in Ultimate Fighter where it was a unanimous decision.
